    WSP USA is initiating a search for a **GIS/BIM Lead Consultant** out of our **Raleigh, NC & Denver, CO** area offices.

     

    The **GIS BIM Manager** will report to WSP USA's National Transportation Digital Delivery team and is also responsible for implementing BIM initiatives nationally, such as providing guidance to staff with regards to training, company standards.

     

    Responsible for performing project BIM and Information Management functions for major transportation infrastructure projects, the GIS/BIM Lead Consultant will be well versed in information management process and have previous experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams in all aspects of information production, delivery and exchange. The GIS/BIM Lead Consultant will also be responsible for managing BIM project delivery both internally and externally to WSP on projects and should have experience running coordination and production delivery meetings.

    Your Impact

     

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated GIS/BIM Lead Consultant to join our team and play a pivotal role in our digital delivery and asset management initiatives. The ideal candidate will leverage Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + **Data Integration and Management:** Integrate various data sources into a cohesive system, including mapping and uploading asset data into the organization's GIS platform and Asset Management Information System (AMIS).

    + **Digital Delivery Support:** Ensure accurate representation and accessibility of GIS data to support digital delivery initiatives. Develop workflows to convert design data into usable GIS information.

    + **Asset Management Improvement:** Conduct assessments and develop implementation plans to improve asset management practices. Identify key gaps and provide tailored roadmaps for improvement.

    + **Collaboration and Coordination:** Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders, including marketing, IT, and customer service, to ensure successful project implementation. Coordinate with contractors and external partners to test and refine processes.

    + **Governance and Compliance:** Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Provide direction and governance at key points in the development process.

    Your Role:

    + Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, compiling documentation, and analysis of incoming and existent data.

    + Assist with researching and illustrating the geography of project sites, as well as assisting with public exhibits relating to projects.

    + Assist technical staff and project managers by offering input and analysis with low-level threat mitigation activities, master planning, and permitting activities.

    + Work with cross-functional teams, CADD, and other technicians in executing project work.

    + Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

    + Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

    + Access to the latest BIM Software and Integration Platforms

    + Deliver 3D modelling expertise to a variety of multidisciplinary projects in the MEP discipline.

    + Develop skills and capabilities of the design teams to assist project delivery within a BIM compliant project environment, relevant to project team needs.

    + Interfacing with multi-disciplinary project teams and supporting BIM & Digital Delivery benefits at project level.

    + Co-ordinate BIM resources for the team and report to team or section leader.

    + Set up BIM projects considering model strategy, standards and deliverables.

    + Suggests methods of model or drawing production to ensure optimum efficiency.

    + Liaise with design teams to program work and resource as applicable.

    + Assist with the spatial co-ordination of engineering services on projects.

    + Ensure compliance with CAD/BIM standards and report non-compliance.

    + Ensure technical software is configured correctly across contributors.

    + Provide training to engineering staff as required to input or review the model.

    + Manage the data store and housekeeping.

    + Manage delegated workload so deadlines are met and flag resourcing concerns.

    + Support the recruitment of new CAD/BIM staff testing skills and competencies.

    + Liaise with the Digital Delivery Leadership on any GIS or BIM issues.

    + Learning new software and processes

     

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    + 8 to 12 years of GIS project experience specific to Transportation and Infrastructure.

    + Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, or related field

    + Proficiency using ESRI ArcGIS software including: ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online

    + Proficiency using FME Software’s to automate data workflows

    + Proficiency creating and maintaining web applications and dashboards

    + Background understanding of various engineering design software and how they interact with GIS platforms

    + Creative problem-solving, multi-tasking, and organizational skills

    + Strong production management capabilities and a proven understanding of project management methodologies

    + Excellent oral and written communication skills, proactive communicator and problem-solver

    + Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ownership and accountability for work

    + Capability to work in a dynamic environment, including a demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities

    + Ability to work collaboratively with a wide array of individuals from various backgrounds, including engineers; planners; GIS professionals; federal, tribal, municipal and state government officials; and the public.

    + Strong track record of overseeing successful project delivery with a drive for quality product and financial excellence

    + Must be able to build rapport and establish positive relationships with existing and prospective WSP clients to ensure client-focused performance

    + Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and SharePoint

    + Solid work ethic and have the drive to be a leader in the company and in the professional community

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with State DOT transportation projects and workflows

    + Experience with Managing and Maintaining datasets for clients

    + Experience with Developing and Delivering Training Materials

    + Customization of GIS software using Python

    + Ability to travel periodically, as needed (less than 30% travel anticipated)

    **Expected Salary (Colorado only):** $110,700 - $188,200

     

    WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
