POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

General Description:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of equipment and systems across our facility. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for planning and executing preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing faults, minimizing downtime, and supporting the operational efficiency of all machinery and infrastructure.

Required skills:

+ Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment.

+ Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

+ Maintain tools, machinery, and mechanical equipment in a safe, working condition.

+ Use predictive maintenance tools (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography) to identify potential failures before they occur.

+ Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs.

+ Create and update maintenance logs, reports, and equipment manuals.

+ Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety standards.

+ Perform safety audits and risk assessments for machinery and work areas.

+ Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and systems.

+ Coordinate with vendors and project teams for the successful integration of new equipment.

+ Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and maintenance supplies.

+ Reorder parts as necessary and maintain efficient stock levels.

+ Work closely with production, quality, and engineering departments.

+ Supervise junior technicians and provide technical guidance as needed.

+ Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.

+ Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment failures.

+ Support initiatives to reduce energy consumption and improve equipment efficiency.

+ Ensure equipment is running in an environmentally friendly manner.

+ Be available for emergency maintenance and breakdowns.

+ Respond quickly to minimize downtime and production loss.

+ Minimum 10 years of progressively more responsible positions within industrial maintenance field and minimum five (5) years within a food processing industry

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Extensive background in ammonia refrigeration, steam generation, air compressor technology, chain drives, all types of conveying systems, variable frequency motor controls, maintenance of sanitary conditions. Job responsibilities typically require extended hours

+ Must be able to demonstrate effective people skills

+ Basic computer skills and proficiency with basic office software (Word and Excel)

+ Supervisory Skills – Managing a team of up to 50 team members and being a senior leader for the site.

Education Requirements (if applicable):

+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or five years of applicable experience

+ High School diploma or equivalent required.
