    An early-stage venture capital firm focused on frontier technologies is seeking a Finance Associate - Audit to join its finance and operations team. This role provides broad exposure to fund operations, financial reporting, audits, tax compliance, and emerging technologies such as blockchain, crypto, and AI.

     

    Working closely with senior leadership, you will support fund administration, investor reporting, and operational improvements in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

    Responsibilities

    Fund Reporting

     

    + Review quarterly reports prepared by fund administrators for open- and closed-ended funds

    + Reconcile digital asset transactions against blockchain data

    + Distribute quarterly capital statements to investors

    + Manage relationships with fund administrators

     

    Annual Audit

     

    + Review annual financial statements prepared by administrators

    + Coordinate audit requests, including confirmations, valuation memos, and transaction support

    + Work with auditors to ensure timely delivery of audited statements

     

    Fund Operations

     

    + Support capital calls, distributions, redemptions, investment funding, expense payments, and cash receipts

    + Track fund finances and investment valuations using proprietary systems

    + Monitor expenses and suggest cost-saving initiatives

    + Address investor finance inquiries

     

    Additional Support

     

    + Participate in SPV finance processes including capital calls, tax, and audits

    + Assist with fund tax compliance, including review of K-1s and tax returns

    + Contribute to ad-hoc financial analysis and strategic projects

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or related field

    + 3–5+ years asset management auditing or accounting experience, with 2+ years in VC, PE, or alternative investments

    + CPA highly preferred; passing FAR & REG sections required

    + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

    + Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets

    + Self-starter, flexible, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment

    + Interest in crypto, technology, or AI a plus

    + Must be based in San Francisco or New York, able to work onsite at least 2 days per week
