    Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a **Systems Engineering Manager 2** to support our growing engineering team in advanced technology development programs.

    What You'll Do:

    This is a dual-role technical manager position including people management and direct program leadership contribution. The split between program and functional duties will be approximately 80% program and 20% functional, on average. The direct program work may include technical work in the form of systems engineering, hardware/software development, IPT leadership, or any other appropriate technical contribution.

    Key roles and responsibilities include:

    + Supporting a team of 10-15 technical staff in management role. Administrative management responsibilities include staffing, performance and compensation management, and career development.

    + Implement and manage technical design, quality, performance, and risk and opportunity across projects. Ensuring alignment with Engineering and Division processes, program policies, and industry standards

    + Developing and executing project budgets and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts.

    + Being accountable to stakeholders and program managers for status updates, issue resolution, and overall engineering execution

    + Providing technical leadership to the team and ensuring proper engineering processes and procedures are followed.

    + Working with peers and training leads to identify critical skill shortfalls, developing appropriate technical training, and improving team performance

     

    This position requires work on site at Northrop Grumman’s Beavercreek, OH facility.

    Basic Qualifications for Systems Engineering Manager 2:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of relevant experience; Master of Science degree in STEM related field with 6+ years of relevant technical experience; PhD in STEM related field with 4+ years of relevant experience

    + Experience in systems architecture or subsystem design activities

    + Experience as a technical lead supporting efforts and staff across project life cycle

    + Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills

    + This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. Citizen

    + Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary US Government security clearance per customers’ requirements

    Preferred Qualifications for Systems Engineering Manager 2:

    + Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader

    + Experience designing and implementing solutions with minimal or evolving requirements

    + Experience in developing custom systems across various technologies such as RF, analog, digital, & embedded

    + Experience as an IPT lead, functional lead, or leadership in the military

    + Active U.S. government security clearance.

     

    Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
