    Job Description:

    JOB SUMMARY

    Work Shift:** Mon - Thurs with weekly rotating shifts of 5:00 am - 3:00 pm or 9:00 am - 7:00 pm and includes occasional weekend coverage. **This is an on-site position.

     

    The Triage Coordinator supports and assists radiology imaging within a busy work environment. This position has multiple service responsibilities including maintaining patient confidentiality at all times, patient registration, and answer/screening incoming telephone calls using proper telephone etiquette, locate, send and retrieve films for comparison and/or readings. The Triage Coordinator is an essential link in communication between radiology imaging and clinical imaging with internal and outside medical groups/facilities.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION

    _For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._

     

    **Minimum Required:** High School graduate or equivalent required.

    **Preferred/Optional:** Post-high school courses in medical area such as health unit coordinator or medical office procedures preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and body structure preferred.

    EXPERIENCE

    **Minimum Required:** One to two years previous experience in a medical setting required. Computer keyboarding experience required.

    **Preferred/Optional:** Previous data entry experience preferred.

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
