    Job Overview:

    We are searching for a Work Control Manager to support APTIM's nuclear decontamination and decommissioning (D&D) project at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory (BAPL). The Work Control Manager will be responsible for the effective management of work activities to achieve project objectives in compliance with contract terms and conditions. The Work Control Manager will lead a multi-disciplined team and develop and implement project plans and procedures to accomplish the contract statement of work (SOW) and define the means & methods of accomplishment and develop a baseline for the scope including budgets/costs and a critical path schedule to achieve optimum performance.

    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

    + Developing and maintaining a project work control organization (resource identification, utilization, & allocation) encompassing all disciplines required to execute and deliver the contract SOW

    + Oversee and direct all aspects of work control management (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and closeout) for the project

    + Lead interaction as the work control point of contact with the client (DOE EMCBC, Naval Reactors)

    + Track work control and execution progress against baseline schedules and budgets; resolve discrepancies and negative trends as early as feasible

    + Overall coordination of initial work planning/scoping working with operations and engineering to develop a resource loaded schedule and cost estimate

    + Primary interface with operations and project planners/schedulers

    + Supervises daily activities of work control personnel including technical and administrative support and ensures that deliverables are produced on schedule and within budget

    + Establishes, monitors, and interfaces with project safety and quality programs

    + Plans, organizes, coordinates, and controls work control in accordance with the established company policies, procedures, systems, and requirements

    + Proactively resolve issues with the customer

    + Preparation and/or provides input into Financial Reports including Progress Reports (internal and client required)

    Basic Qualifications:

    + Experience at DOE facilities and projects with a detailed working knowledge of key DOE Orders and/or industry standards related to work control; experience with the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory is preferred.

    + Experience in nuclear operations, engineering design, and/or D&D/remediation

    + Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent

    + PMP Certification preferred

    + Working knowledge of DOE Order 413.3B preferred

    + Demonstrated experience in leading (supervising/managing) multi-discipline teams to achieve project objectives

    + Minimum of 10 years work control supervisory experience on large, complex nuclear projects involving radioactive waste environmental remediation and disposal

    + Must be a US Citizen -- no dual citizenship

    + Current security clearance preferred or the ability to obtain one

    As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $125K to $140K. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
