    About the Role & Team

     

    Disney's Agricultural Sciences Team at Epcot® is seeking applicants for an Entomologist for _The Land_ greenhouses. The Agricultural Sciences team is responsible for maintaining and improving the agricultural show presented on the _Living with The Land_ boat ride. You must have extensive Entomology/Integrated Pest Management experience.

     

    You will report to the Agricultural Sciences Manager.

     

    This is a full-time, salaried role with the requirement to work third shift.

    What You Will Do

    + Identification of insect pests and determining control tactics in _The Land_ greenhouses

    + Develop biologically based insect and mite management strategy

    + Conduct weekly crop monitoring, identify pest insects and mites and determine treatment plan

    + Application of pesticides as needed where there is no effective biological control available

    + Communicate closely with team as well as other internal and external partners

    Required Qualifications & Skills

    + Florida Pesticide Applicator License

    + Field or greenhouse experience with identification of pest insects and mites

    + Experience executing treatment plans, including both chemical and biological control tactics

    + Experience in integrated pest management, biological control of insects and mites, and project management

    + Heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with greenhouse hydroponics and facility management

    Education

    + B.S. degree in Entomology with 3+ years of experience required

    + M.S. in Entomology with 1+ years of related experience is preferred
