    The Quality & Safety Administrator, Office of the CMO, provides integrated planning and leadership in the alignment of quality and safety programs and initiatives for UPHS Office of the CMO.

     

    The Quality & Safety Administrator Identifies key quality and safety opportunities, and interfaces with senior administration, faculty, and staff across the organization to execute on objectives as assigned by the UPHS CMO.

     

    This role acts as a liaison between Alliances, Penn Data & Technology Teams and entities to ensure teams are supported with data and aligned with internal and external reporting. This role also involves strategic planning and management in high-profile areas such as Quality, Safety, Infection Prevention, and Regulatory.

    Accountabilities

    Coordination: Manage project proposals to meet requirements, ensuring high-quality deliverables and satisfaction. Coordinate with PennDnA, marketing, third-party vendors, and others for essential materials to support business operations, adhering to UPHS policies for each interaction.

     

    Team Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary teams from multiple entities to achieve project goals and deadlines. Facilitate sharing of best practices across departments related to safety and quality processes/approaches. Provide periodic, wellorganized written status reports for leadership, including executive leadership when required.

     

    Program Management: Develop, manage, and implement quality and safety programs for the Office of the CMO. Including program management of Penn Medicines’ Professionalism program, ensuring partnership with external support and set of KPIs, data integration, training plans of messenger roles and completion of message follow up.

     

    Interconnection of CMO Domains: Quality, Safety, regulatory and Infection Prevention- have insight into work, goals, priorities of these domains and how they are impacting Penn Medicine goals and priorities.

     

    Penn Medicine Team Goals: Align team goals with the overall objectives of Penn Medicine, ensuring that UPHS hospitals improve composite ranking in Vizient Quality & Accountability within their hospital peer group

     

    • Integrate Entity Goals: Set entity-specific goals using calculators, considering metrics for critical success such as mortality, infection prevention (SSI, CLABSI, CAUTI), patient experience, and operating margin. Evaluate other domains in Q&A as potential metrics for success.

    • Managing Ongoing Training: Facilitate ongoing training programs to ensure teams are proficient in data navigation and decision-making. Implement a combination of methods, including initial intensive training (bootcamp), monthly workshops, quarterly deep dives, and continuous access to resources, office hours, and mentorship. Conduct hands-on workshops, mentorship programs, regular training updates, and feedback assessments to gauge understanding and provide support.

    • Navigate and interpret data for making sound judgment to drive clinical improvements and opportunities and ROI based on quality and performance improvement methodologies

     

    Establishes and maintains collegial relationships with quality, safety, patient affairs, risk management, regulatory professionals across UPHS.

     

    Fosters team building and professional development.

     

    Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures

     

    Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

    Minimum Requirements

    Required Education and Experience

     

    Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree Preferred) is required.

     

    5+ years Healthcare experience is required

     

    Project management experience is preferred.

     

    Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications

     

    Green belt, six sigma or like training is preferred.

    Required Skills and Abilities

    Data analytics skills and understanding

     

    Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills

     

    Excellent collaboration/team building

     

    Project and change management and strategic planning

     

    Analytical Software: Proficient in Advanced EXCEL, MS Access

     

    Collaboration Software: Proficient in SharePoint Developer, MS Teams

     

    Visualization Software: Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Tableau

     

    Knowledge of /familiarity with national standards for quality, safety, and healthcare standards

     

    Knowledge of/familiarity with change management, Lean Six Sigma, and process improvement terminology, tools, and process

     

    Ability to drive multiple projects

     

    Able to deliver clear and concise presentations to varied audiences

     

    Demonstrated project management skills
