Summary:
The Statewide Apprenticeship Degree Initiative Coordinator is a 35-hour-a-week, grant-funded, administrative year-to-year contract position, pending continuous funding. The Degree-Apprenticeship Coordinator role is responsible for coordination and oversight of the Apprenticeship-Degree Initiative program. The coordinator will oversee the development and execution of the TESU/NJDOL ADI MOU, including outreach strategies for the ADI project in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOL). This role is primarily responsible for overseeing the successful execution of the TESU/NJDOL ADI MOU.
Examples of Work:
Apprenticeship Degree Initiative Objectives:
-Provide evaluations of registered apprenticeship programs to determine the amount of college credit that could be awarded for participation in and completion of the registered apprenticeship program. The related technical instruction as well as on-the-job learning will be evaluated during this process.
-Create Degree-Apprenticeship Multi-Credential Pathways starting with Career and Technical Education programs that will lead to registered apprenticeship program enrollment concurrent with higher education pursuits.
-Enroll apprentices into degree or certificate programs at TESU with scholarships that cover the differential between credits award by TESU for training and credits needed to complete degree/certificate requirements.
-Stimulate enrollment pathways stemming from Career and Technical Education and traditional High School programs into registered apprenticeship programs in New Jersey by partnering with various schools and agencies and leveraging the benefits of the Apprenticeship Degree Program.
-Support enrolled apprenticeship students with unique non-traditional educational and life coaching support systems in a manner that is conducive to their schedules.
-Provide both an academic transcript and a skills transcript to all apprenticeship students documenting not only their academic achievements but highlighting their skills. This objective will dovetail with the CREATENJ (Center for Career Relevant Education and Talent Evaluation) Initiative, which aims to empower individuals by capturing their career-relevant knowledge, skills and abilities derived from formal higher education, technical training, workplace training and apprenticeship programs into one comprehensive document.
**Key Responsibilities** :
_Project Management:_
-Develop and implement a statewide project plan that encompasses the following activities:
1. TESU’s Professional Learning Review (PLR) for registered apprenticeship programs.
2. Scholarship awards to registered apprentices.
3. Collaborative activities with myriad stakeholders.
4. CREATENJ Task Management
_Communications and Outreach Plan:_
-Develop and implement a comprehensive communications plan, which includes outreach strategies, materials, and social media campaigns.
-In conjunction with TESU Marketing and Communications teams develop print and digital materials, including flyers, handouts, and social media content, to raise awareness of the ADI Project.
-Create and distribute email communications, meeting agendas, and other outreach materials.
_Stakeholder Engagement and Recruitment:_
-Conduct outreach to Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs) for the purposes of PLR Evaluation.
-Inform RAPs about the opportunities for course evaluation and ensure they are engaged in the process.
-Coordinate and attend at multiple virtual and in-person recruitment event to increase awareness of the program and its benefits for RAP students.
_Marketing and Dissemination:_
-Develop PowerPoint presentations and other materials for dissemination at outreach events.
-Ensure that campaign materials are shared with NJDOL.
-Track the effectiveness of outreach efforts and adjust strategies as needed to maximize program visibility.
_Reporting and Documentation:_
-Provide documentation for all outreach activities, including emails, social media posts, meeting agendas, and attendance records.
-Submit progress updates as required by the TESU/NJDOL MOU.
**Qualifications** :
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
-Proven experience in communications, outreach, particularly in educational or public sector settings.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to develop clear, engaging materials.
-Ability to organize and manage recruitment events and meetings effectively.
**Preferred Qualifications** :
-Experience with Trade Unions, Registered Apprenticeship Programs, Vocational Training, or Credit for Prior Learning.
**Additional Requirements** :
-Ability to travel locally within New Jersey for partner school visits and recruitment events.
-Availability to full time for the duration of the project.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and communication tools.
The Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in spreading awareness about the TESU/NJDOL ADI project.
