**Salary:** **Salary:** $94,827 to $154,315/year.

**Job Title:** Neuroimaging Engineer Associate I
**Job Duties:** Rush University Medical Center seeks a Neuroimaging Engineer Associate I in Chicago, IL to conduct research on the engineering aspects of brain function and structure in aging within the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center. Responsible for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) as well as Positron Emission Tomography (PET) data collection, quality testing, data processing, data sharing, and supervision of Research Engineers. Collect MRI data on brain specimens using advanced ex-vivo MRI protocols. Design, develop, and document medical research image processing procedures for both MRI and PET using the principles of engineering and biobehavioral sciences. Apply advanced image processing techniques on older adult brain MRI and PET data. Perform quality checks on MRI and PET data collected on phantoms, human subjects, and specimens. Maintain thorough documentation of data collection protocols, image processing and quality control procedures and results. Support maintenance of databases of research results. Prepare and support data summary documents and research articles for scientific publication, grant submission or other regulatory submissions. Oversee the work of Research Engineers and provide mentoring and guidance. Work with physicists, engineers, computer scientists, biostatisticians, neurologists, neuropsychologists, and computational neuroscientists on imaging projects. Facilitate data sharing with scientists within and outside of the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center. Stay current on scientific, industrial, or technological advances. Local telecommuting permitted 4-5 days per week.
**Minimum Requirements:** Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Medical Physics or related field, plus 1 year of experience in MRI data collection, including 1 year of experience in (1) independently operating Siemens MRI scanners for research purposes; and (2) neuroimaging with MRI.
