Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Waco, Texas. This is a Contract-to-permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to key financial operations, including job costing, inventory reconciliation, and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate will collaborate across departments to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards. Great benefits and perks are offered!
Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed job costing analyses to monitor project expenses, profitability, and cost variances.
• Manage month-end close activities, including preparing and posting journal entries to ensure timely financial reporting.
• Reconcile inventory accounts, identify discrepancies, and work closely with operational teams to address issues.
• Prepare and maintain accurate account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts in line with company policies.
• Analyze financial data to produce clear and actionable reports for management decision-making.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, reconciliations, and analyses.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and implement best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper cost allocations and adherence to financial procedures.
• Perform additional accounting duties as assigned to support the finance department.
Requirements • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, with expertise in job costing and inventory reconciliation.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and proficiency in month-end closing procedures.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical capabilities.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, construction, or project-based environments is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Dynamics SL or similar ERP systems is a plus.
