Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Engineering Technician is responsible for the maintenance and installation of a wide range of equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance. This role requires expert knowledge of maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
Responsibilities
+ Inspect facilities and prioritize necessary repairs, improvements, and preventive maintenance.
+ Follow all safety rules and regulations to minimize risk and enhance the safety of employees and visitors.
+ Check property and grounds for unsafe conditions and clear hazards.
+ Report safety conditions, security issues, and illegal activities.
+ Troubleshoot and perform diagnostics for repair of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
+ Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled facilities maintenance tasks, including carpentry, mechanical, security systems, and basic non-licensed electrical and plumbing.
+ Operate hand and power tools.
+ Work on assigned projects and make appropriate decisions based on work experience.
+ Notify supervisors of repair problems beyond the scope of authority.
+ Read and interpret project work orders; identify material and equipment needs, and organize supplies and equipment.
+ Prepare written reports as required and document the work performed.
+ Utilize proper safety precautions in all work performed and report problems and emergency situations.
+ Clean up spills and unsafe conditions in a timely manner according to procedures.
+ Inspect and maintain assigned equipment and small tools for proper operating condition.
+ Complete minor repairs on equipment as needed.
+ Operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.
+ Identify and report mechanical problems requiring additional repair.
+ Assist with setup and teardown for special events, and other tasks as directed.
+ Complete daily work log, incident and accident reports, and requisitions for supplies and materials.
+ Respond as directed to perform emergency cleaning and repair work as required.
Essential Skills
+ Expert knowledge in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
+ Experience with facilities maintenance, HVAC maintenance, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
+ Universal HVAC certification is required.
+ Ability to operate forklifts and power tools.
+ Strong skills in carpentry, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in reading and interpreting project work orders.
+ Ability to prepare written reports and document work performed.
+ Experience in operating vehicles and equipment safely.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing facility with multiple buildings. While performing duties, employees may be exposed to moving parts and work that requires repetitive motion. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
