ARS is seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Specialist to support a high-level government agency in matters related to the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition System. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in innovative acquisition approaches, policy, data analytics, acquisition management, software acquisition, program analysis, sustainment, and logistics. This role requires exceptional professionalism, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage sensitive information, anticipate leadership needs, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

1. **DoD Acquisition System Expertise:**

2. Provide expert-level knowledge and guidance on innovative acquisition approaches, policy, and acquisition management.

3. Analyze and interpret data related to Defense Acquisition Programs, sustainment, and logistics to support decision-making processes.

4. Apply advanced software acquisition methodologies to improve program efficiency and outcomes.

5. **Defense Acquisition Program Analysis:**

6. Conduct in-depth analysis of Defense Acquisition Programs to identify areas for improvement and recommend actionable solutions.

7. Support the development and implementation of acquisition strategies aligned with DoD policies and objectives.

8. **Sustainment and Logistics:**

9. Provide technical guidance on sustainment and logistics strategies to ensure long-term program success.

10. Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize product support and lifecycle management.

11. **Leadership and Technical Guidance:**

12. Lead and provide technical direction for multiple high-complexity projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

13. Offer strategic advice and recommendations to senior leadership on acquisition and logistics matters.

14. **Executive-Level Support:**

15. Deliver executive-level support to DoD and other federal agencies, leveraging extensive experience in policy, product support, and logistics.

16. Prepare high-quality reports, briefings, and presentations for senior leadership.

17. **Other Duties as assigned**

Qualifications:

+ Must be a US Citizen

+ Active Secret clearance is required

+ Master’s degree from an accredited college/university is required.

+ Minimum of ten (10) years of specialized experience in DoD policy, product support, and logistics.

+ Must have experience in managing customer expectations and working directly with customers. Desired qualities include initiative, sound judgement, creativity, flexibility, and confidence.

+ Must have the ability to multi-task across multiple projects working independently without continuous oversight or instruction.

+ Must have extensive knowledge of the DoD Acquisition System, including innovative acquisition approaches, policy, data analytics, acquisition management, advanced software acquisition, Defense Acquisition Program Analysis, sustainment, and logistics.
