Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Representative to join our team in Reston, Virginia. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing essential accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with company policies and ethical standards. This position requires excellent organizational skills, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks to ensure smooth departmental operations.
• Monitor and manage the Accounts Payable inbox, addressing time-sensitive requests promptly.
• Process invoices and accounts payable transactions using Oracle and CashPro systems.
• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries, inter-division invoices, and reconciliations.
• Coordinate weekly benefit funding and handle payroll-related inter-division invoices.
• Maintain and update vendor databases, including setting up new vendors.
• Process and manage unclaimed checks, outstanding checks, due diligence letters, and escheatment filings.
• Extract and analyze data from various accounting systems, including PeopleSoft, Oracle, and AP workflow tools.
• Generate reports, resolve accounting discrepancies, and respond to inquiries from employees, vendors, and business units.
• Collaborate with the Finance Supervisor and Manager to implement process improvements and support audit requests. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Oracle.
• Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to process invoices and manage financial documentation accurately.
• Familiarity with general ledger entries and reconciliation processes.
• Knowledge of benefit funding and payroll-related accounting tasks.
• Excellent communication skills to address inquiries and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
