What you’ll achieve

At the heart of innovation lies a deep understanding of both customer needs and the competitive landscape. The Design to Value (DTV) team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, objective insights that drive strategic product and portfolio decisions.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Competitive Analysis Engineer to join our team and help shape the future of our product designs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting competitive evaluations across our portfolio and help improve current and next-generation designs.

You will:

+ Support the DTV competitive analysis strategy and deliverables through product evaluations across the Client Solutions Group (CSG) portfolio

+ Perform comprehensive product assessments, including user experience evaluations, hardware/software analysis, physical teardowns, system-level testing, and cost benchmarking

+ Deliver detailed, data-driven reports and presentations that inform and influence product differentiation

+ Collaborate closely with platform core team members to ensure strong cross-functional alignment and knowledge sharing

+ Continuously refine and enhance our competitive analysis process to deliver actionable insights

Essential Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; multidisciplinary engineering background preferred

+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in high-tech consumer electronics industry

+ Proven hands-on experience with the assembly and disassembly of computers or electronic devices

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desirable Requirements

+ Familiarity with Design to Value (DTV) or Design to Cost (DTC) methodologies

+ Ability to assess situations objectively and influence stakeholders through clear, persuasive communication

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $127,000 - $165,000.
