    Job Summary

    Responsible for the collection of delinquent non-electric accounts billed in PeopleSoft. Perform inbound and outbound collection calls to obtain payment. Work cross functionally with all areas of AEP to provide collection services for all type of non-electric billings.

    Collector (Salary Grade 2)

     

    Collector Sr (Salary Grade 3)

    What You'll Do:

    + Maintain and organize assigned invoices and customers.

    + Perform activities for the collection of delinquent non-electric accounts through direct and indirect contact with customers by sending delinquent notices, making outbound calls, and receiving customer calls.

    + Perform activities to locate delinquent customers through research, verify and update customer accounts.

    + Work with other departments and Business Units to provide customers with back up details as needed.

    + Negotiate arrangements, obtain signed agreements, and monitor for payments until account is paid in full.

    + Handle confidential Personally Identifiable Information (PII) with customer payment by credit card.

    + Run queries in PeopleSoft to check for payments, customer information, etc.

    + Determine if written-off invoices should be placed with outside collection agency, to Legal, or if no further collection action should be taken.

    + Process check requests for Special Billing curtailment customers and update spreadsheets.

    + Investigate customer disputes by working with internal resources to reach resolution.

    What We're Looking For:

    Collector (Salary Grade 2)

    **Education:** High school diploma or GED required.

    **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years' experience in collections or customer service.

    Collector Sr (Salary Grade 3)

    **Education:** High school diploma or GED required.

    **Experience:** Minimum of 3 years' experience in collections or customer service.

    Other Must Haves:

    + Basic computer skills in Windows based systems.

    + Strong communication and negotiation skills.

    + Multitasking skill and good attention to details.

    + Can work occasional overtime.

    What You'll Get:

    **Expected Salary:** $22.00-$24.00 per hour (USD)

    Compensation Grade:

    SP20-002

    Compensation Range:

    $18.32-22.90 USD
