    How you'll make an impact:

    You will handle various aspects of field service support and customer relationships within our Laboratory Equipment (LE) division. You will provide sophisticated services on laboratory equipment, including the following:

     

    + Repair, install, and maintain various **Laboratory Equipment Products (https://www.thermofisher.com/us/en/home/clinical/public-health/coronavirus-sars-cov-2-research-solutions/lab-products.html) ,** including temperature monitoring **,** **incubators (https://www.thermofisher.com/search/browse/category/us/en/90088059?gptExactMatch=true)** **,** **centrifuges (https://www.thermofisher.com/search/browse/category/us/en/90180031?gptExactMatch=true)** **, refrigerators (https://www.thermofisher.com/search/browse/category/us/en/90106039?gptExactMatch=true) , freezers (https://www.thermofisher.com/search/browse/category/us/en/90106017?gptExactMatch=true) ,** and **cryogenic storage (https://www.thermofisher.com/us/en/home/life-science/lab-equipment/cold-storage/cryopreservation-systems-accessories.html?SID=fr-cryocoldstorage-main) .**

    + Work directly with customers to schedule visits, address their concerns, and provide reassurance while resolving their problems.

    + Completing learning assignments on time, reading procedures, submitting expense reports, and maintaining spare part inventory.

    Benefits and Travel:

    Field Service Engineers (FSEs) are "remote" colleagues since they commute daily to customer sites to provide service. FSEs are provided with a Company (Fleet) vehicle to allow for daily travel to multiple customer locations in their defined service area. Overnight travel of approximately 50% is required to service customers and participate in training programs. Expect up to 75% travel in the first year of employment to accommodate for training.

    The ideal candidate will reside in or around (stack ranked):

    + Baton Rouge

    + New Orleans

    + Lafayette

     

    The primary territory for this position includes Louisiana and Southern Arkansas.

    Minimum Education & Experience:

    + Minimum education is a high school diploma and 4+ years of related experience

    + Preferred education and experience is a certification, associate's, or bachelor's in HVAC, electronics, or engineering and 1 year of experience in field service, Depot repair, manufacturing facilities or equivalent, servicing medical devices or laboratory equipment, etc.

    + Experience in customer-facing positions preferred.

    + Experience working with basic test equipment such as DMM, tachometer, and temperature devices, including hands-on refrigeration experience is helpful.

    + Ability to operate computers, smartphones, and related software efficiently.

    + Ability to work independently diagnosing and solving using schematics, diagrams, service manuals, and other technical resources.

    + Maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
