Overview
THE ROLE:
Provide support to the General Accounting Supervisor in the accounting/reporting area, directly responsible for plant fixed asset accounting and other general accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities. The position performs SOX and operational compliance testing and reporting.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
• Maintain Fixed Asset subsidiary ledger & account reconciliation.
• Abide by corporate policy for capitalizing equipment purchases and other construction in progress activities
• Prepare monthly fixed asset roll forward reconciliation
• Complete government required reporting as needed
• Participate in Budget, forecast and monthly reporting activities.
• Assist in process and system upgrades and improvements
• Interacts with other departments, such as Engineering, Corporate Accounting, IT, Purchasing and Quality and others
• Prepares special reports and assists in special projects assigned by management
• Demonstrates initiative in all aspects of Plant Accounting
• Ability to work with conflicting priorities and meet department goals
• Communicates efficiently and clearly in verbal and written form
• Other account reconciliations as assigned.
• Performs quarterly SOX and operational compliance testing and remediation as necessary
• Any other projects or tasks as assigned
• Annual Physical Inventory of FA
• Depreciation Schedules
• Accrued Expense reconciliation

Qualifications
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Skills:
• GAAP Knowledge and compliance requirements.
• Proficient with PC skills including Windows, Excel and Word
• Ability to solve practical problems and resolve tasks with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret common financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to organize workload and multitask to meet priorities
• Carry out responsibilities independently, with general supervision
• Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to respect toward others
• Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.
• Team focused with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial data.
Experience:
• 0-3 years accounting experience
• 0-3 years prior fixed asset accounting experience
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Takes initiative and proactive problem solver.
• Interested in advancing accounting skills
