    _Summary:_

    The Associate Regulatory Specialist / Engineer will be responsible for ensuring product safety and regulatory compliance in all countries where our products are sold. This position will directly support Calphalon Cookware, Rubbermaid® Food Storage, Ball® Home Canning products and Rubbermaid Commercial Products.

    _Job Responsibilities:_

    + Research, understand, and communicate product safety and compliance requirements relating to current products, new product categories and expansion of sales to new regions globally.

    + Participate in product development projects to ensure that safety, regulatory and agency requirements are identified and satisfied in target markets (global).

    + Assist with formal Product Quality Risk Assessments to identify and quantify safety and compliance risks and develop mitigation plans.

    + Review and approve product labeling, packaging artwork, and instruction booklets to ensure safety and compliance requirements are met.

    + Support continuous improvement and cost savings projects by ensuring that product safety and compliance is maintained.

    + Monitor changes to regulatory and agency requirements, and recommend actions required to maintain compliance of active products.

    + Assist with ensuring that ongoing testing and compliance documentation updates for active products are planned and executed.

    + Ensure that records to support safety and compliance are maintained.

    + Support the investigation and problem solving for safety or compliance issues.

    + Provide input for strategies and processes to assure safety and compliance, representing regulatory within the team and cross-functionally.

    _Qualifications:_

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.

    + 1-2 years of experience in assuring product compliance with regulatory requirements.

    + Experience with regulatory requirements for plastic food contact products is a plus.

    + Experience with consumer products and FPLA / UPLR labeling regulations is a plus.

    + Experience with product development.

    + Assist with identification and resolution of potential safety and compliance issues.

    + Ability to understand complex, technical requirements and communicate in clear terms to a broader team what is required.

    + Ability to effectively plan and prioritize activities and multi-task.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel & PowerPoint.

    + Demonstrates knowledge of regulations such as Food Contact regulations, REACH, TSCA, Prop 65 and others is a plus.

    + Demonstrates strong interpersonal and project management skills.

    + Demonstrates excellent communication skills-verbal and written.

    + Demonstrates ability to perform in a team environment.
