Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:The Librarian will be responsible for cultivating, maintaining and cataloguing print and electronic content as well as the grade and curriculum appropriate use of school's library collection.

Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Working closely with Director of Curriculum and Instruction, acquire materials to supplement and enhance school's curriculum in all subject areas.

+ Lead and teach classes in research techniques using all available media.

+ Assist teachers in literacy programming (read alouds and buddy reads) as well as lead enrichment activities in the library.

+ Initiate new programs and acquire new tools and materials in collaboration with faculty and leadership team

+ Create library budget subsequent to approval by Board of Directors

+ Other duties as required

Qualifications:

+ Master's degree in English, Literature or related area, with appreciation and knowledge of diversity and literature of World Cultures

+ Minimum 1 year experience in urban school setting

+ Excellent record keeping skills

+ Proven ability to create in a warm and welcoming environment

+ Demonstrated electronic research skills

+ Excellent Communication Skills
