Overview

Patient Care Tech - Inpatient Acute Rehab

PRN, as needed

Acute Rehab is a 10-bed unit that is CARF certified (Center of Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities). The unit has specialty certifications in stroke and brain injury through CARF. Our patient population is primarily neuro-based; in addition, we care for patients suffering from multi-trauma, debility after extensive hospital stays, and more. We have a family atmosphere on the unit with an emphasis on interdisciplinary teamwork amongst our therapists and ancillary departments. Our patients' goal is to return to home as independent as possible. The average length of stay is approximately 2 weeks. Staffing on the unit is 2 nurses and 1 tech during the day, and 2 nurses at night.

Responsibilities

The Patient Centered Care Tech role at Finley is a CNA role, which assists with patient bathing, takes vitals, performs blood sugar finger sticks, assists patients with eating, passes and picks up trays, answers call lights, and assists nurses as needed.

Qualifications

Education:

+ High School Diploma/GED or currently and actively working towards completion of diploma/GED

+ Prefer successful completion of Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) program with active registration on Iowa Direct Care Registry, but not required

License(s)/Certification(s):

+ Must possess and maintain current Basica Life Support (BLS) certification or within three (3) months from date of hire
