    Principal Responsibilities:

    As a member of our Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Center and AMG Pediatric Pulmonology Division, the dietician will be expected to:

    1. Evaluate our patients overall nutritional status, including weight, growth, and dietary intake.

    2. Create personalized nutrition plans tailored to the individual's specific needs, considering factors like age, weight, lung function, and activity level.

    3. Help manage CF related complications like CF-related diabetes (CFRD) and bone diseases (osteoporosis) through dietary adjustments and other strategies.

    4. Provide education on nutrition-related aspects of CF and other disease conditions, including the importance of a balanced diet, proper enzyme dosing, and strategies for managing weight and symptoms.

    5. Offer guidance on managing gastrointestinal issues, such as constipation and diarrhea.

    6. Help with the initiation and management of tube feeding as a means of providing additional nutrition.

    7. Collaborate with doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other member of the CF care team to ensure comprehensive care.

    8. Assist with data collection, quality improvement projects, educational initiatives, and program development related to the pediatric cystic fibrosis program and the pediatric pulmonology division in general.

    9. Stay informed about the latest research and guidelines in CF nutrition to provide the most current and effective advice.

    9. Assess food insecurity at each clinic visit and discuss issues with the CF team.

    10. Connect patients and families with appropriate resources for food insecurity.

    Required:

    Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Registered Dietician (RD) or Equivalent.

     

    Licensed with the State of New Jersey as a Registered Dietetic Technician or Registered Dietician or Dietary Manager Association or as applicable

    Preferred:

    Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Science or related field.

     

    2-3 year's experience in a related field.

     

    Previous experience with children with chronic illnesses; specifically cystic fibrosis.
