Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Controls Engineer (HMI/PLC) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in developing and maintaining control systems for industrial and building automation applications. Expertise in Siemens PLCs, Ignition SCADA, and HVAC systems is essential, along with experience in networking and interfacing with life safety systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, program, and maintain building automation systems for industrial and commercial applications.
Develop and configure Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), with a focus on Siemens PLCs.
Implement and manage Ignition SCADA systems for monitoring and controlling operations.
Integrate control systems with HVAC systems, life safety systems, and other facility infrastructure.
Support and optimize control solutions for utility systems such as compressed air and cooling water systems.
Design and manage networking and switches, ensuring robust communication between control components and systems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure controls meet project and regulatory requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational reliability.
Conduct system testing, commissioning, and documentation for all control systems and interfaces.
Provide technical support and training to operations teams on control system functionality and maintenance.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
2-12 years of experience in controls engineering, with a focus on HMI/PLC systems.
Proficiency in Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting.
Experience with Ignition SCADA system design and deployment.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems and their integration with control systems.
Knowledge of life safety system interfaces, including alarm and control interconnections.
Experience with compressed air and cooling water systems controls.
Familiarity with networking principles, including the configuration of switches and communication protocols.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in large-scale industrial or commercial control system projects.
Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations in control and automation engineering.
Knowledge of additional SCADA platforms or PLC brands is a plus.
