Description

An Accountant plays a vital role in managing and analyzing an organization's financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently under deadlines. Accountants may specialize in various areas, such as tax, auditing, cost accounting, or general ledger accounting, and they often collaborate with other departments or external stakeholders. Primary Responsibilities:

+ Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain, update, and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness (Source: SG25 US Finance and Accounting.doc).

+ Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports, to provide an overview of the company's financial health.

+ Tax Preparation and Compliance: Ensure company adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations; prepare and file tax returns accurately and on time.

+ Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in creating budgets and financial forecasts by analyzing current and historical data.

+ Internal Controls: Monitor and assess accounting procedures, identifying areas for improvement to prevent fraud and ensure compliance.

+ Audit Preparation: Support internal or external audit processes by providing all required documentation and reports.

+ ERP Systems: Utilize enterprise resource planning (ERP) software like SAP or NetSuite for efficient financial management (Source: SG25 US Finance and Accounting.doc).

+ Collaboration: Work closely with management, financial analysts, and other members of the finance team to provide insights and recommendations for business decisions.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

+ Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience; public accounting or corporate setting preferred.

+ Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with accounting software is preferred.

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in both data entry and financial record-keeping.

+ Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.

+ Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.

+ Experience with ERP systems such as Dynamics 365 and other computer platforms is preferred.

+ Prior work in food/beverage, consumer goods, and/or manufacturing is required.

+ A proactive approach to continuous professional growth and process improvements.
