    Summary:

    To support the Workforce Development Department in delivering services that empower participants to achieve and sustain meaningful employment. This role provides individualized guidance, resources, and professional development opportunities to help participants explore career pathways, enhance job readiness, and pursue further education and training when appropriate. The position also implements strategies to assess each individual’s abilities, employment barriers, and training needs.

    Education/Experience:

    High school diploma required with some college preferred. Experience or strong interest in workforce development, social services, education, or related field desired.

     

    Must have a valid Driver's License.

    Job Competencies:

    + Ongoing contact with participants in order to help them access needed supports for success. Provide guidance, services, and resources to enable participants to obtain and sustain employment, explore future careers, develop professionally, and pursue educational opportunities. Provide excellent customer service. Maintain accurate records to fulfill grant requirements, retention, and departmentally assigned outcomes. Display commitment and involvement towards Goodwill's mission

    Essential Functions:

    + Offer individualized support to participants, including career counseling, job readiness training, and employment planning.

    + Provide individualized assistance to help participants prepare for and pursue employment opportunities. This includes supporting job search efforts, building job readiness skills, supporting post-secondary training enrollment and progress, connecting participants with potential employers, and offering guidance throughout the application and interview process.

    + Deliver ongoing support to participants after employment to promote long-term job retention. This includes personalized coaching to address workplace challenges, goal setting for career advancement, and proactive resource navigation to help resolve barriers.

    + Conduct assessments to identify participants’ skills, interests, and barriers to employment. Develop and maintain individualized goals and plans for participants’ professional development and advancement.

    + Guide participants through available education and workforce programs, training opportunities, and support services (e.g., childcare, transportation, housing).

    + Design and deliver workshops on resume writing, interviewing, soft skills, and workplace expectations.

    + Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in designated tracking systems. Track participant progress and outcomes for compliance and reporting.

    + Ensure adherence to program guidelines, funding requirements, and confidentiality standards. Participate in training and contribute to program evaluation and improvement.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Guide individuals through career exploration, goal setting, and the development of plans tailored to their skills and aspirations.

    + Administer tools to evaluate participants’ job readiness, skills, interests, and barriers to employment or education.

    + Lead workshops or one-on-one sessions on topics such as resume development, interview preparation, workplace etiquette, and career exploration.

    + Assist participants in identifying job opportunities, completing applications, and preparing for interviews through coaching and encouragement.

    + Connect participants with community resources such as transportation, childcare, housing, or mental health services to reduce employment barriers.

    + Document participant engagement, progress, and outcomes in accordance with program requirements and data collection standards.

    + Offer post-employment support through coaching and resource navigation to help participants maintain employment and address workplace challenges.

    + Follow all applicable policies, procedures, and funding guidelines while contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

    + Reply to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

    + Assist with the health, welfare and safety of all participants and employees.

    + Interact appropriately with other employees and community professionals.

    + Adhere to all safety policies and report violations.

    + Adhere to all ethical standards and confidentiality.

    + Support mission statement and activities of other departments.

    + Support the accessibility of our services and facilities free of architectural, attitudinal, environmental, financial, communication, transportation, employment and other barriers to person with disabilities and barriers to employment.

    + Attend all meetings required of job i.e.: staff meetings, dept. meetings and safety meetings.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Physical Strength:

    + Lift -- push/pull while standing - up to 10 pounds on a daily basis. Not every day, but occasionally up to 50 pounds.

    + Carry -- push/pull while moving - up to 10 pounds on a daily basis. Not every day, but occasionally up to 50 pounds.
