    The Systems Administrator will ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational policies. The role involves running security scans, resolving vulnerabilities, and primarily hardening Linux systems per requirements, including OS patching, software patching, and anti-virus software management. Additionally, the administrator will assist in hardening Windows systems and be involved in installing and programming routers, firewalls, and multi-layer network switches, including routing and managing Access Control Lists.

    Responsibilities

    + Ensure compliance of system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures with organizational policies.

    + Run security scans and resolve vulnerabilities.

    + Harden Linux systems, including OS patching, software patching, and anti-virus software management.

    + Assist in hardening Windows systems, including OS patching and software patching.

    + Install and program routers, firewalls, and multi-layer network switches, including routing and managing Access Control Lists.

    Essential Skills

    + 5 years of experience with a BS/BA; 3 years with an MS/MA; 0 years with a PhD.

    + Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.

    + US Citizenship.

    + Proficiency in Linux FIPS mode.

    + Experience with full disk encryption using LUKS / Tang / Clevis.

    + Knowledge of Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), OpenSCAP, STIGviewer.

    + Creating patch repositories and pushing out updates quarterly.

    + Bash scripting, user profiles, secure login policies.

    + Active Directory authentication (SSSD, Realm, Samba).

    + Mounting NTFS and NFS drives.

    + VMware Virtualization with Horizon View (thin client / Omnissa client).

    + VMware VCenter Administration, Microsoft Active Directory administration.

    + Familiarity with CUDA and Compute GPU installations.

    + Installing, upgrading, and administrating Red Hat Rocky, Ubuntu, Real-Time Operating Systems (Redhawk / Red Hat RT).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in systems administration.

    + Proficiency in Linux and Windows systems.

    + Knowledge of STIG and ACAS.

    + Familiarity with VMware and Microsoft Active Directory.

    Work Environment

    This position requires working on-post at Aberdeen Proving Ground, directly supporting the U.S. Army. The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies and equipment within a structured military environment.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
