Position Summary
The Community Outreach Coordinator is dedicated to enhancing community awareness of and engagement with RPCC’s Westbank Workforce Training Center in Donaldsonville as well as other communities in the RPCC service area. This includes promoting RPCC’s programs and initiatives, career opportunities, and more. The role also involves creating opportunities for community members to engage with RPCC through its stakeholder meetings, community education, and event outreach.

Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s Degree with 2-years of experience in similar position.
+ Substitution: Associate degree with 3 years of experience will substitute for Bachelor’s degree
Required Skills:
+ Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or be willing to obtain a CDL within 90 days of employment.
+ Must be able to safely drive and operate a duly truck and tow the RPCC STEM Mobile Lab trailer to various locations in the RPCC service areas.
+ Ability to lift 40 pounds and perform setup and breakdown tasks for outreach events.

Job Duties and Other Information
Key Duties and Responsibilities
+ Advance RPCC’s mission, philosophy, and commitment to the communities in the RPCC service areas with a focus on the Donaldsonville community by embracing these values and demonstrating them in everyday activities.
+ Develop and execute a comprehensive community outreach plan, in-line with RPCC's Mission Statement, to increase awareness and drive engagement with a variety of key audiences. The plan should include specific strategies to reach different audience segments with appropriate and tailored activities.
+ Represent the college at events, meetings, and community activities, including evenings and weekends as needed.
+ Manage RPCC’s event outreach activities and experiences, including both special events that RPCC hosts and community events in which RPCC participates. Responsibilities include scheduling and operating the college’s Mobile STEM Lab at events, working with RPCC departments to showcase a RPCC program, working with the college’s communications and recruitment team to establish an annual calendar of events, coordination of logistics event staffing, developing event messaging, and presentations.
+ Assist in the setup, breakdown, and operation of the STEM Mobile Lab at events, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for participants.
+ In collaboration with the Associate Vice Chancellor of Institutional Advancement, develop presentations, educational lessons, and related learning materials (e.g., event booth activities, educational literature, giveaways, etc.) for use in outreach activities.
+ Coordinate meetings and related activities with RPCC stakeholders. Responsibilities include coordination of logistics and development of presentations and related materials (e.g., agendas, presentation handouts, educational literature, etc.).
+ Proactively seek opportunities for hands-on experiences (events, tours, presentations, workshops) for RPCC participation with an expectation of growing the number and type of activities and audiences and people engaged through these experiences.
+ Develop and maintain inventory of community outreach materials (event booth and supplies, giveaways, literature, outreach collateral, presentations, other physical and digital materials) to ensure RPCC has a robust resource and inventory of community outreach tools and supplies.
+ Identify and develop opportunities to collaborate with community partners, including special events, meetings, tours, and development of specialized educational programming and materials.
+ Establish metrics to assess the effectiveness of Community Outreach activities. Report on these metrics and make recommendations for improvement and new strategies to accomplish goals.
+ Project a positive image of all aspects of RPCC to achieve trust and respect from the community.
+ Maintains a shared media library of all event photographs and videos.
+ Work in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications to compile content for RPCC newsletters, email marketing campaigns, texting campaigns, including recruitment data, enrollment data and success stories.
+ Work in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications on social media content to engage target audiences and identify threats and opportunities in user- generated content. Reports notable threats as appropriate.
+ Additional duties as assigned.
