    CDM Services is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of all Banner hospital, physician clinic, urgent care and freestanding imaging chargemasters. The primary function of the Associate Director is to provide support and direction to the CDM Consultants to ensure chargemaster accuracy and compliance and that all maintenance requests, guidance requests and CDM reviews are processed timely, completely and accurately.     The Associate Director manages and monitors the day-to-day work of **eight CDM Consultants.** This position will require leadership experience as you will be monitoring performance, conducting performance appraisals, and leading and participating in project work. You will report directly to the Director of CDM Services and will routinely interface with Revenue Integrity, Corporate and Facility finance teams, service-line CDM gatekeepers and IT. This position is perfect for someone who is experience in Chargemaster and passionate about building and maintaining a great work environment.

    Ideal Candidate:

    + Bachelors degree in finance, healthcare related;

    + **Minimum of 5 years of Hospital Chargemaster experience** (clearly reflected in your attached resume);

    + 2-3 years Leadership experience

     

    This can be a remote position and available if you live in the following states only: AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI & WY.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    This position will ensure that the Chargemaster (CDM) is consistent with all coding and billing regulations and accurately represents services provided. This position acts as the liaison between Finance and facility departments, and researches CDM maintenance requests for adherence to the Banner Health system standard CDM in a timely manner. This position responds to inquiries regarding Chargemaster issues and is responsible for the training of facility departments regarding the CDM Maintenance process, coding updates and charge capture improvement.

    CORE FUNCTIONS

    1. Responsible for holding staff accountable for achieving goals, performance targets and supports the development and continued professional growth to meet company and individual goals for long-term success.

    2. Acts as a resource to the CDM Consultant team in the research and resolution of requests in a timely manner; and is responsible for the training and skill development of the consultants to maximize available tools for chargemaster compliance.

    3. Demonstrates an expectation for continuous quality improvement utilizing processes that include consideration of all stakeholders.

    4. Coordinates the daily CDM maintenance workflow and monitors the alignment of the individual facilities to Banner Health’s standard CDM.

    5. Is responsible for the documentation of all policies and procedures regarding CDM maintenance and charge process; and is responsible for training CDM consultants to evaluate department charge processes to improve charge capture and coding compliance.

    6. Coordinates with facility departments, IT, clinical informatics, and integration personnel on technology projects impacting charge entry, charge dictionaries and charge interfaces.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with five to seven years healthcare experience in patient accounting, billing, collections, reimbursement and compliance functions.

     

    Five years hospital chargemaster experience, including the use of CDM Maintenance software (e.g. Craneware, nThrive, Vital Ware, etc.), and experience with inpatient and outpatient billing requirements (UB-04) and CMS Medicare reimbursement methodology. Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and ICD10 coding principles.

     

    Intermediate level proficiency in MS Windows and Office applications specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

     

    Knowledge of government and third party payer reimbursement methodology.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's Degree.

     

    HFMA certification, CCS, RHIA, RHIT.

     

    Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
