The Department of Psychological Sciences in the Western Kentucky University Ogden College of Science and Engineering is pleased to announce we are accepting applications for the position of Coordinator. The Coordinator will oversee the basic financial and business transactions for the Department of Psychological Sciences and help facilitate the campus and communications initiatives for the department.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties and responsibilities are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
+ Serve as core member of the department to include providing administrative input on policies and procedures relevant to areas or responsibility.
+ Perform a variety of administrative duties to include word processing, spreadsheet and database management.
+ Maintains all administrative filing and budgetary records in order to accurately document various activities within the department.
+ Assists the department chair with specific assignments and special requests.
+ Assist department chair with expense tracking and fiscal reporting requirements as outlined in university policy and procedures.
+ Assist department chair with personnel action and compensation reporting and tracking as outlined in university policy and procedures.
+ Oversee and manage Department student employees, to include, but not limited to hiring, scheduling, budget maintenance and training.
+ Maintains appointment calendar, prepares schedules and assists faculty and students with travel expense vouchers and documentation.
+ Assist academic program director/coordinator with student success initiatives and collecting student outcomes data.
+ Assists in planning, coordinating and executing meetings and other special functions.
+ Maintains and organizes office supplies.
Secondary Responsibilities:
+ Assists individuals throughout the department as needed.
Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:
+ Knowledge of modern office equipment such as multi-line phones, copier, printers, etc.
+ Ability to establish priorities and work independently.
+ Organized and detail-oriented with the capacity to work in a busy environment with frequent interruption.
+ Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, customer service skills, problem solving and decision making skills.
+ Ability to work in a team environment and interact professionally with a wide spectrum of individuals to include faculty, staff, administration, and vendors.
+ Ability to concentrate and focus on computer applications for extended periods of time.
+ Computer literacy and proficiency to include Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position in a competent manner following the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, accountability, responsibility, cooperation and customer service.
Job Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree, plus two years related administrative experience.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $17.44 - $23.08/hr
