    PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, WA is seeking a per diem Ultrasound Sonographer to join our team. You’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered diagnostic imaging. This is a variable, relief position, ideal for professionals seeking flexible scheduling while making a meaningful impact.

     

    The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is **$49.36-$73.53.** The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. _Plus, per diem caregivers are eligible for a 15% differential in lieu of benefits, plus any qualifying shift differential ($3.50/hr evenings; $5.00/hr nights; $1.00/hr weekends)!_

     

    You’ll use your clinical judgment and technical skills to perform diagnostic sonographic exams, collaborate with physicians, and ensure patients receive the best care possible.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Performs most appropriate examination based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician as necessary.

    + Records test results, prepares accurate preliminary reports with information appropriate to their scope of practice, and updates patient records for interpreting physician.

    + Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required. May schedule and coordinate tests and prepare and maintain operational logs.

    + Maintains and calibrates equipment and order necessary supplies.

    + Prepares, supplies, and equips exam rooms to meet the needs of requested examinations and to meet specific physician requirements for procedures.

    + Uses independent judgment during exam to differentiate, within the scope of their licensure, between normal and pathological findings.

    + Integrates previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records to optimize exam.

    + Tailors exam to individual patient and utilizes the most appropriate equipment settings to provide most diagnostic information for interpretation.

    + Performs other duties consistent with caregiver’s scope of practice, training, experience, and licensure/registration/certification.

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    + Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Sonography program, or equivalent education and/or experience as required for obtaining certification/license/registration as required by the national registry through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)

    + Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire

    + Required within 1 year: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)

    + PACS/RIS knowledge required; ImageCast/CareCast experience preferred

    + 1+ year of hospital-based ultrasound experience preferred

    + Strong communication, organization, and computer skills
