The Process Improvement Coordinator and Systems Administrator will play an essential role in integrating continuous organizational improvement for the agency by evaluating program processes, designing or improving processes, and aligning program processes with the agency’s strategic goals and objectives.
This position will work closely with agency leaders, staff, and external stakeholders to identify projects that need new or better processes and procedures. This role will make recommendations on which projects to prioritize, define project requirements, and collaborate with staff to implement these processes and projects. This includes documenting existing processes, outlining requirements for projects, tracking tasks, creating manuals and documentation about process change, and training staff on the tools and changes.
This role will also play a key role in achieving the transformational goals of the Minnesota Department of Human Rights (MDHR) by providing operational and technical support for MDHR’s case management system, OnBase. This includes identifying opportunities for database improvements, executing database solutions, investigating requests or database issues, clearly communicating more complicated technical solutions to the OnBase developers, and generating database reports for agency leadership.
Hybrid Work Environment
To promote a culture of flexibility, we offer staff a hybrid work environment with a mix of weekly in office and telework days that vary by team, position, and business needs. With a telework agreement, onsite attendance may be required for team meetings or as requested by management to meet business needs. Completion of a telework agreement will be required. The Department of Human Rights Office is located in St. Paul, MN.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants are highly encouraged to include a cover letter describing their knowledge of and approach to project management and interest in working for the Department of Human Rights.
+ One (1) or more years of experience conducting project management or process improvement activities which must include initiating, planning, executing and closing a project or process improvement effort.
+ One (1) or more years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of a database management system.
+ Experience creating and updating training documents, process manuals, instructional guides, and visualizations that simplify information for audiences with varying degrees or knowledge or awareness.
+ Strong analytical skills sufficient to detect patterns and trends, identify problems, and formulate process improvement projects with an awareness on end user results.
+ Interpersonal communication skills to interact diplomatically with individuals from diverse backgrounds and different parts of the agency.
+ Skills in using Microsoft Office software products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, sufficient to train and coach employees on how to best use the technology.
+ Strong organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience working closely with OnBase.
+ Experience with programs such as SharePoint, Miro, Azure DevOps, Snag-It, and One-Drive.
+ Experience using Agile methodologies.
+ Experience facilitating team meetings, presenting information, and/or providing training.
+ Knowledge of the Minnesota Human Rights Act and the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act.
+ Dedication to civil rights work and working with people from diverse communities.
+ Bachelor’s degree, master's degree or other advanced degree.
Additional Requirements
