    HFM BOCES Adult Literacy and Correction's Education is accepting applications for a full-time Teacher Aide.

     

    Services will include assistance using online learning systems; communicating with people interested in becoming students; communicating with students regarding education and employment outcomes; collection, review and submission of paperwork; assistance in maintaining records; receiving guests and providing information; maintenance of a clean and safe teaching environment; other duties as directed.

     

    Teacher aides provide important support to teachers and students. Every team member at a Literacy Zone is important to our goal of helping people transition to greater opportunities.     Job Qualifications

    Requirements: 1) High School Diploma or equivalence; 2) General clerical skills; 3) Ability to work effectively with adult learners from diverse cultures; 4) Digital literacy skills

     

    Preferences: Ability to read, write and speak in Spanish for the Amsterdam Literacy Zone location. Former Literacy Zone participants who meet the requirements are encouraged to apply.

     

    Traits sought: dependable; organized; inquisitive; positive attitude; good communication skills; good team member; persistence; attentive to details; able to adapt to changing situations.

     

    Skills sought: general clerical skills and digital literacy.

    Fulton County Civil Service

     

    This is a Non-Competitive Civil Service position. Applicants must be a resident of Hamilton, Fulton or Montgomery County in order to be considered for this position.

     

    TEACH Clearance

     

    Per Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required. Formal job offer/selection is contingent on ability to obtain a fingerprint security clearance through the TEACH system prior to working.
