Essential Job Duties:
This is a professional temporary staff position in the Transportation Planning unit of an NC State department. This position works under the supervision of the Transportation Planning Manager overseeing the campus Transportation Demand Management ( TDM ) program and transportation planning projects. As part of ongoing campus sustainability initiatives and in partnership with local/regional agencies throughout the Triangle, the Transportation Planner / TDM Coordinator will plan, implement and manage initiatives supporting the WolfTrails program at NC State.
Other Work/Responsibilities:
+ Strategize, prioritize, budget, and oversee deployment of new bike and scooter parking racks on campus.
+ Research, design, develop, implement, and manage TDM program activities supporting carpooling, commuter incentives, vanpooling, transit, bicycling, walking, car, bike, and scooter-sharing, and ride sharing.
+ Lead community engagement efforts, including tabling events aimed at promoting projects or programs, distributing promo items, and collecting input.
+ Collect quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate the results of transportation planning and TDM activities.
+ Design and manage projects or strategies to support shifting transportation demand to low-emission transportation modes on campus and increasing vehicle occupancy rates.
+ Provide TDM grant oversight, budget, quarterly reporting, and annual renewal.
+ Assist in campus and regional outreach efforts (e.g., New Student Orientation, Campus Sustainability Day, Earth Day, etc.) aiming to raise awareness of alternative transportation options.
+ Assist the Transportation Planning team with leading innovative branding and creative design strategies supporting TDM program management activities.
+ Advance the department’s efforts in coordinating and maintaining digital web content and social media design marketing strategies.
+ Oversee the NC State GoPass program, including providing overall program management, coordinating annual distribution, analyzing performance metrics, and monitoring monthly reports to ensure program success (e.g., eligibility, distribution, budgetary, etc.).
Required Qualifications:
+ Proficiency in using the various applications within the Microsoft Office suite, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
+ Ability to communicate in a professional and engaging manner with professional partners and the general public.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Ability to lift up to 40 poundss (boxes, foldable tables and chairs) occasionally with or with reasonable accommodation
+ Ability to drive a truck.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in transportation planning, TDM , project management or customer service roles is a plus.
