Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Individual Life Underwriter II to join one of their premiere local Insurance clients in the Des Moines area. As a Senior Life Underwriter II, you will be responsible for the total case management of all applications assigned. This position involves reviewing applications, examinations, laboratory and other test results, medical and financial records, all documents required to comply with state and federal regulations and determining suitability. Familiarity with Accelerated Underwriting and interpreting underwriting data is desirable. You will work independently, with support from the assistants, but also may consult with other underwriters, Medical Director, reinsurance companies and experts in other disciplines such as accounting and legal. As a Senior Life Underwriter II, you must adhere to department policies and procedures and comply with government regulations. There are times where this role would be responsible for training our agency force in the participation of seminars, and agency or statewide meetings.The annual salary for this role is between $80,000-$110,00 a year.

Skills and Requirements

8+ years of experience as an Individual Life Underwriter

Experience writing at least 2-3 million limit of authority

o They have unlimited covered w/ Sonya

o They would be capped at 10 anyways

Experience reviewing medical records or summaries

For example: Milliman, Lexus Nexus or other prescription tools

Familiarity with how Reinsurance is used

For example: Hanover Re, Swiss Re, RGA, Munich or other proprietary tools

Understand MIB conditions and codes

Outgoing personality open to learning how to lead a team FLMI, FALU, CLU or other designations or certifications

EHR (Electronic Health Records) Experience

Experience communicating with agents on the phone

Can exemplify ability to interact and collaborate with agents and business users

Supervisor or leadership experience null
