Description We are seeking a 1040 Tax Manager to lead our client's individual tax return practice. As many firms move away from 1040 preparation, this firm remains committed to serving individual clients and see this as a long-term strength for the firm. This role is ideal for a tax detail oriented who wants to take ownership of a key service area with strong client demand and growth potential. Requirements Key Responsibilities Manage and review the preparation of individual (1040) income tax returns. Provide tax planning and compliance services for individuals, including high-income and complex cases. Supervise and support tax staff involved in 1040 work. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local tax laws. Communicate with clients throughout the year on tax matters. Stay current on tax law changes and their impact on client filings. Qualifications CPA or EA required. Minimum 5 years of experience preparing and reviewing 1040 returns. Strong technical knowledge of individual tax law. Experience with tax software and paperless workflow systems. Ability to manage workload during peak season and lead a team.
