    Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a **Designer 3/4 – Packaging Specialist** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in **Melbourne, FL.**

     

    + 1st shift, 4/10s schedule Monday – Thursday, with EVERY Friday off!

    + Position is onsite, unable to accommodate a telecommute/hybrid schedule.

    • **Essential Functions:**

    + Design components or portions of packaging, material handling, storage and transportability (PHS&T) systems as well as modifying existing designs with the intent of developing or improving products to simplify manufacturing, production and logistical engineering support operations.

    + Develop packaging instructions for the shipping of military and commercial parts utilizing military and commercial packaging standards to include hazardous materials shipping.

    + Further to identify, plan, resource and acquire packaging/preservation, handling, storage and transportability (PHS&T) constraints which maximize the availability and usability of DOD assets ensuring survivability for either training or mission support requirements.

    + Develop material handling and Parts Protection Specifications, Special Packaging Instructions and Coded Packaging Data

    + Determine packaging specifications according to the nature of the product, cost limitations, legal requirements, and the type of protection required, considering need for resistance to such external variables as moisture, corrosive chemicals, temperature variations, light, heat, rough handling, and tampering

    + Support the Package Engineer in the development of supplier packaging requirements

    + Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects

    + Function as a Liaison primarily to internal company contacts, (inter-organizational teams) and occasionally with outside customer contacts on routine matters

    Basic Qualifications (Level 3):

    + High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of additional education and/or related experience

    + Related experience must be in supply chain, military and/or commercial packing/shipping or handling/hazmat

    + Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

    + Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance and Special Program Access within reasonable amount of time deemed by company needs

    Basic Qualifications (Level 4):

    + High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 6 years of additional education and/or related experience

    + Related experience must be in supply chain, military and/or commercial packing/shipping or handling/hazmat

    + Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

    + Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance and Special Program Access within reasonable amount of time deemed by company needs

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Active DoD Secret level clearance

    + CFR 49 Certification

    + IATA Certification

    + IMDG Certification

     

    Salary Range: $60,800.00 - $101,400.00Salary Range 2: $72,200.00 - $120,400.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
