Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role supports all aspects of payroll processing, including data entry, auditing, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to both routine payroll operations and special projects.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll for (insert number) employees using (insert payroll software, e.g., ADP, Paychex, etc.).
+ Ensure accurate calculation of wages, benefits, taxes, and deductions.
+ Maintain and update payroll records and employee data.
+ Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or discrepancies.
+ Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and finance teams.
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (FLSA, IRS, etc.).
+ Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to reconcile payroll data.
+ Assist with audits and year-end processes, including W-2 and 1099 preparation.
+ Stay current on changes in payroll laws and best practices.

Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in payroll processing, timekeeping, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general spreadsheet management.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling large volumes of data.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable handling routine calls and emails professionally.
Preferred:
Experience with payroll or timekeeping software systems.
Basic knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulatory compliance.
Exposure to accounting functions or general ledger activities.
Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and audit processes.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
