Front Office Medical Assistant – Oncology Clinic (Plano, TX)

We’re seeking a warm, attentive, and experienced Medical Assistant to join our oncology clinic in Plano, TX. This role is ideal for someone who brings clinical efficiency with a compassionate heart—someone who understands that every interaction matters when supporting patients facing critical health journeys.

What You’ll Do

+ Greet and check in patients with kindness and respect

+ Manage appointment scheduling with care and attention to patient needs

+ Process prior authorizations and referrals with accuracy and timeliness

+ Utilize EMR systems—Athenahealth (AthenaOne) experience preferred

+ Cross-train to assist in the back office as needed, offering a flexible, team-based approach to care

+ Communicate gently and effectively with patients and families, creating a reassuring environment

What We’re Looking For

+ 2+ years of medical front office experience, ideally in a clinical or specialty setting

+ Strong knowledge of EMR systems (especially Athenahealth)

+ Experience handling referrals, prior authorizations, and appointment coordination

+ Willingness to support the back office as needed

+ Medical Assistant certification preferred, though not required

+ A naturally calm, compassionate demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills

+ Respect for patient privacy, comfort, and emotional well-being

On-site in Plano, TX at a welcoming, patient-centered oncology clinic

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
