    Job Title: Assistant Production Manager

    Job Description

    We are seeking an Assistant Production Manager to oversee our 2nd shift operations. The role involves coordinating production schedules, managing resources on the floor, and ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and efficiency standards. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM, with potential weekend support required based on business demand.

    Responsibilities

    + Oversee 2nd shift production activities and resource allocation.

    + Supervise 4 team leaders, 9 switches (break relief operators), and approximately 55 production operators.

    + Act as the highest decision-maker on the 2nd shift for all departments.

    + Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement/logistics for timely material flow.

    + Ensure compliance with IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards.

    + Maintain accurate documentation and conduct area audits.

    + Support training and development of production staff.

    + Drive continuous improvement through standardized work, workflow optimization, and downtime reduction.

    + Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and logistics to resolve cross-functional issues.

    + Communicate effectively across all shifts and departments.

    + Provide leadership, set performance expectations, and foster a culture of accountability and growth.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in production leadership (e.g., supervisor, team lead, or shift manager).

    + Understanding of automotive manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, machining, assembly).

    + Strong leadership and team motivation skills.

    + Clear and effective verbal and written communication.

    + Proven problem-solving abilities and root cause analysis.

    + Excellent organizational and scheduling capabilities.

    + Technical understanding of manufacturing equipment and quality control.

    + High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

    + Analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making.

    + Collaborative approach with cross-functional teams.

    + Adaptability to dynamic production demands and process changes.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or Equivalent.

    + Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    + Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

    + Resilience and sound judgment in high-pressure situations.

    Work Environment

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
