Description
The Design Manager role is to provide strategic leadership, product designs, and direction in creating impactful packaging designs that align with the brand's objectives and marketing strategy. This role involves managing multiple projects, overseeing the entire packaging design process, and making critical decisions to drive innovation and maintain brand consistency. The Design Manager is responsible for problem-solving design challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring budget adherence, and fostering a creative and collaborative work environment. By effectively leading the design team and making informed decisions, the Design Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the visual identity and market positioning of Clinique products.
Manage day-to-day operations, projects, and deliverables | Ensure adherence to brand guidelines | Create product designs (primary and secondary) in line with ELC needs and markets trends | Make strategic design decisions in alignment with brand objectives | Determine packaging design directions and concepts | Select suppliers and manage vendor relationships | Evaluate and approve design proposals, prototypes, and proofs.
Qualifications
+ 5+ years of related experience.
+ Bachelor's degree in industrial design, package design, graphic design, or related field required.
+ Highly organized, timely ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
+ Challenges standard practices and applies new and different ways of thinking as necessary.
+ Strong knowledge of industrial and manufacturing processes, finishes, materials, and printing techniques.
+ Strong organization skills for file management and archiving.
+ Astute sense of color for review and approval of samples/proofs.
+ Strong ability to provide context and think strategically about the packaging language and ecosystem as a whole.
+ Creates and sustains environment of trust and collaboration.
+ Actively builds relationships across disciplines and with external partners.
+ Excellent communication skills, ability to speak to creative vision and execution as well as tactical conversations across disciplines.
+ Flexible and adaptable tochanging priorities and design shifts.
+ Mastery in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) Microsoft office.
+ Precise and detailed 3D modeling/rendering ability (Rhino, Solidworks, Keyshot) a major plus.
