UPMC Community Medicine Incorporated team is looking for a _full-time Medical Assistant_ to join Superior Family Medicine in Oakmont (135 Allegheny Ave, Suite C second Floor, Oakmont Pa 15139)!
Schedule/Shift: Monday through Thursday 8am-4:30pm & Friday 7:30am-4pm. No evenings, weekends, or holidays required!
_Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the Medical Assistant Career Ladder, based on their individual experience and education._
Clinical Support:
+ Check schedules and organize patient flow
+ Accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms
+ Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, specimen collection, and exam prep
+ Collect patient information/history, take vitals, perform screenings
+ Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs
+ Perform clinic procedures according to policy
+ Assist physicians with procedures
+ Administer injectable medication and vaccines under physician supervision
Documentation & Records:
+ Document patient information in medical records
+ Relay instructions to patients and families
+ Answer calls and provide patient education as directed
+ Send/receive patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations
+ Maintain strict confidentiality of medical records and data
Room & Equipment Management:
+ Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment per protocol
+ Clean exam/procedure rooms and equipment between visits (infection control)
+ Follow scheduled maintenance programs and maintain cleaning records
+ Manage inventory and restock exam/procedure rooms
Administrative Duties:
+ Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral info, etc.
+ Complete forms/requisitions as needed
+ Schedule appointments
+ Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics
+ Prepare and manage charts to ensure info is complete and properly filed
+ Perform front office responsibilities as required
Compliance:
+ Follow OSHA, CLIA, and PA Department of Health regulations
+ Comply with all UPMC Health System policies and procedures
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
