This critical leadership role within Ford Motor Credit’s Finance team is responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting for our insurance operations, including our wholly owned P&C insurance company. You will lead a team of accounting professionals, collaborate closely with various internal and external stakeholders, and ensure timely and accurate statutory and U.S. GAAP financial reporting. This position is highly autonomous and involves significant interaction with leadership, operations, and external auditors, providing a path for developing key accounting and leadership competencies.
What you'll do...
+ Oversee and ensure the timely and accurate preparation and filing of quarterly and annual statutory financial statements (e.g., NAIC Yellow Book) and other required regulatory reporting for insurance entities, including one offshore insurance company
+ Manage and review the analysis of statutory annual statements and reporting for entities supporting Ford’s extended service business
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during annual financial statement audits, driving an effective and efficient audit process
+ Direct and validate monthly accounting processes for insurance-related activities (including reinsurance and statutory journal entries and reconciliations)
+ Identify opportunities to enhance insurance accounting accuracy and efficiency by streamlining, redesigning, and automating manual processes
+ Oversee compliance programs related to internal controls over financial reporting for insurance operations
+ Work closely with the business to evaluate new insurance products and business initiatives; develop and document appropriate accounting policies in accordance with U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting principles
+ Develop materials and presentations for the insurance entity’s Audit Committee and Board of Directors, providing clear and concise insights into financial results and accounting matters
+ Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting analysts, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment
+ Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Insurance Operations, IT, Tax, and Internal Audit as well as the insurance company’s Chief Agent operating the Branch in Canada
+ Identify and implement process improvements to optimize accounting operations and enhance internal controls
+ Identify and implement required changes to statutory accounting practices as the business changes, develops, and grows
You'll have...
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
+ 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, auditing, or finance roles including experience in U.S. Insurance Statutory and GAAP financial reporting
+ 5+ years of experience in leadership or managerial role, including direct supervision of staff
+ Experience with financial statement preparation and the audit process
+ Proficient in Microsoft excel and accounting general ledger systems
+ Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a face-paced environment
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels

+ Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
+ Experience with consolidated financial reporting and internal controls over financial reporting
+ Public accounting experience with Big 4
