    Position: HCT & Cellular Therapy Coordinator Location: Winston-Salem, NCDepartment: Cancer Hematology Clinic

     

    Employment Type: Full Time, 40 hrs per week, M-F

     

    About the Role

As a Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT) & Cellular Therapy Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive, coordinated care for patients undergoing hematopoietic cell transplantation and cellular therapy. You will be instrumental in shaping the development and evolution of our Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (TCT) Program, enhancing its effectiveness and quality.

    Key Responsibilities

    + The HCT and Cellular Therapy Coordinator participates in performance improvement/research activities, maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise, and demonstrates leadership skills.

    + Participates in TCT Program development in areas directly related to patient care.

    + Assists the providers in working up the patient for the planned therapy and helps navigate the patient through the entirety of the transplant process.

    + Demonstrates advanced and diverse clinical knowledge and skills in the capacity of clinician (advanced practice clinicians, RN clinical nurse specialists, or RN within their scope of practice), educator, researcher, collaborator and patient advocate to provide both direct and indirect patient care in a semi-autonomous, self-directed role in accordance with professional practice standards and clinical expertise .

    Qualifications

    + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.

    + Experience: Minimum of three years of clinical experience in Blood and Marrow Transplant and/or Cellular Therapy.

    + Licensure: Current North Carolina RN licensure.

    + Certifications: BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

    + Preferred: Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Bone and Marrow Transplant Certification.

    Qualifications

    Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred. BSN, preferred.

     

    Experience: Minimum of one year of apheresis experience in the collection of hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC, Apheresis) and mononuclear cells (MNC, Apheresis), preferred.

    Licensure/Certification:

    Current NC or compact state RN license, required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification, required. Current (or actively pursuing) the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) and/or Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMTCN) credential or the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Qualification in Apheresis (QIA) credentials, preferred. Completion of ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate or equivalent within 6 months of hire, required.

    Additional Skills/Requirements (required):

    + Self-starter.

    + Organized and detail-oriented.

    + Interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

    + Skills in patient education, teamwork and collaboration are necessary.

    + Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members.

    + Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.

    + Strong critical thinking skills.

    + Desire to provide compassionate, holistic care.

    + Able to work independently without close supervision .

    Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred):

    + Knowledge of HCT and cellular therapy processes, including mobilization, apheresis, Spectra Optia® Apheresis System, HCT/cellular product infusion, chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR T) therapies and complications, and standards of the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) preferred.
