    Job Description:

    The Day Treatment Supervisor is the on-site leader responsible for leading a team of front-line staff, managing an effective milieu, and maintaining safety with the day treatment environment. Functions as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team in matters related to effective use of agency’s client de-escalation model. Observes fidelity of use of client de-escalation and trauma-informed models and provides coaching and feedback to staff.

    Essential Functions

    + Together with Education Manager, ensures school program adheres to the Colorado Department of Human Services rules and regulations.

    + Leads a team of Education Mental Health Workers including oversight of hiring, onboarding, on-going training, retention, and evaluation of performance.

    + Provides daily observations, coaching, and modeling for all day treatment staff in their utilization and implementation of agency’s client de-escalation model techniques and identified educational best practices.

    + Expertly utilizes and facilitates the use of trauma-informed care to establish and maintain strong relationships with patients and guardians, effectively interpret behavior, and appropriately respond to meets the patient’s needs. Is attuned to the cultural differences among the children, families, and caregivers and responds in a sensitive and professional manner.

    + Manages daily communication system to ensure proper coverage of patient and classroom needs and completes timely and accurate patient care documentation following compliance standards.

    + Expertly recognizes critical situations, anticipates and diffuses difficult patient behaviors, identifies options to manage crisis, engages patient to collaboratively solve problems by understanding and appealing to the patients' underlying goals and sources of motivation.

    + Will be required to cover as a float or in a classroom when education mental health workers are absent or based on business need.

    + Satisfies all Intermountain Health requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, family studies, or related field (degree will be verified) OR four years of experience working in a related field.

    + Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills

    + Ability to obtain Colorado Department of Education substitute license

    + Demonstrated knowledge of crisis management skills

    + Proficiency in computer applications

    + Valid driver’s license (with no record of suspension, revocation or denial)

    + Motor vehicle record and proof of automobile insurance coverage to be updated annually.

    + Ability to adjust work schedule based on business needs.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Demonstrated leadership in a behavioral health setting

    + Knowledge if problem-solving strategies and trauma-informed interventions

    + Bi-lingual in Spanish

    Physical Requirements:

    Physical Requirements

    + Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.

    + Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.

    + Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.

    + Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

     

    Ability to regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be physically able to use crisis prevention / intervention techniques including: physical management of a child, running to prevent a runaway incident. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, run or crawl.

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

     

    $27.65 - $43.55
