    This position oversees the activities of the ER and assigned staff during scheduled shifts, provides patient care, enhances department workflow and provides leadership at the point of care.

    Reports to: Director of ER

    *Minimum Education*

    Knowledge of medical terminology is required

    Knowledge of MedHost electronic health records is strongly preferred

    *Required Skills*

    Ability to understand, communicate, and react effectively to patient and family needs

    Excellent customer service skills

    Ability to multi-task effectively

    Ability to work well under pressure while keeping calm and remaining customer focused.

     

    *Minimum License/Certification*

    Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia or Compac licensure

     

    BLS required at hire. ACLS and PALS within 6 months of date of hire

    Handle with Care within one year of date of hire

    CEN preferred

    *Minimum Work Experience*

    Three to five years experience as a staff nurse within ER unit
