Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Pre Authorization Coordinator to join our team in Newark, New Jersey. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless communication between patients, insurance providers, and medical professionals. Your expertise in preauthorization processes and patient care coordination will contribute to providing exceptional service to both patients and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities:
• Manage preauthorization processes for medical and dental procedures, ensuring timely approvals from insurance providers.
• Coordinate with insurance companies to negotiate claims and resolve payment issues.
• Collaborate with highly trained surgeons and dental specialists to support patient care and treatment plans.
• Communicate payment obligations and financial details to patients with clarity and professionalism.
• Facilitate the scheduling of hospital surgeries, ensuring all logistical requirements are met.
• Maintain accurate patient medical records and ensure proper documentation for preauthorization purposes.
• Schedule appointments efficiently to align with both patient needs and provider availability.
• Assist patients by addressing their concerns and providing clear guidance regarding procedures and payments.
• Check patients in for appointments, verifying necessary documents and ensuring a smooth process.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to streamline communication. Requirements
• Proven experience in medical or dental coding and preauthorization processes.
• Familiarity with insurance claims negotiation and resolution.
• Ability to work effectively with surgeons, dental specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Strong communication skills for explaining payment obligations and procedures to patients.
• Proficiency in scheduling patient appointments and maintaining medical records.
• Knowledge of hospital surgery coordination and related logistics.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience with patient care systems and tools, such as axiUm, and EPIC is required.
