Description We are looking for a skilled Legal Services Support Specialist to join our team in Sacramento, California. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful legal operations within the non-profit sector, helping ensure compliance and providing vital support to the legal department. The ideal candidate will excel in managing legal cases, preparing for hearings, and conducting training sessions for staff and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in addressing legal matters, complaints, and fair hearings, ensuring thorough and timely responses.

• Provide consultation to staff and leadership on legal topics and compliance standards, fostering understanding and adherence.

• Conduct trainings on legal procedures and relevant laws for internal and external audiences.

• Collaborate on updating company-wide and division-specific policies and procedures to align with current regulations.

• Maintain compliance with the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act and applicable federal, state, and local laws.

• Participate in client and vendor meetings, offering legal expertise and support as required.

• Support the Legal Services Manager during absences, handling assigned projects and tasks efficiently.

• Oversee vendor audit issues and assist with reporting to the Department of Developmental Services.

• Utilize case management software to organize, track, and manage legal cases effectively.

• Prepare for court hearings and trials, including discovery and litigation tasks. Requirements • Proven experience in discovery, civil litigation, and trial preparation.

• Proficiency in case management software and other legal tools.

• Strong understanding of litigation processes and court procedures.

• Knowledge of the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act and related regulations.

• Ability to conduct effective training sessions for diverse audiences.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Experience in vendor audits and regulatory reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred but not required.
