Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and optimize accounting operations for a diverse range of clients. Based in Ashland, Virginia, this leadership role requires a meticulous individual capable of managing financial processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and mentoring a team of accountants. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative approach to enhance client service and drive operational improvements.
Responsibilities:
• Manage daily accounting operations for multiple client accounts, including maintaining general ledgers, performing reconciliations, and overseeing month-end close activities.
• Review and assess client financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established accounting standards.
• Monitor and ensure timely submission of regulatory filings, including tax returns, audit reports, and financial disclosures.
• Lead and support the development of accounting staff by providing technical guidance and fostering growth.
• Conduct in-depth research on complex accounting issues to develop solutions and prepare detailed documentation for clients.
• Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities for financial improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
• Stay informed about evolving accounting regulations and technologies, proactively adapting processes to meet industry standards.
• Work closely with firm leadership to streamline workflows and improve the delivery of client services. Requirements
+ CPA designation required.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s or MBA preferred).
+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or a CPA firm.
+ Advanced proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems like NetSuite, Sage, etc.), financial reporting, and Excel.
+ Strong technical accounting knowledge (compliance reporting, revenue recognition, etc.).
+ Leadership experience in team management, including upskilling and mentoring employees
+ Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client relationship management skills.
