Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Manager to lead essential financial operations and drive process improvements. This role involves overseeing accounts payable and receivable, cash management, and internal reporting, while directly managing an Accounting Clerk/Office Manager. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and a solutions-driven mindset to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily cash balances and record financial transactions, including intercompany transfers and client payments.
• Maintain and update project codes, general ledger accounts, and dimensional data to ensure consistency and accuracy across systems.
• Supervise monthly close processes, implement enhanced workflows, and establish internal controls to optimize accounting procedures.
• Plan and coordinate check runs, ensuring timely payments to vendors.
• Reconcile payroll and workers’ compensation journal entries across multiple entities, including allocations and project-level costing.
• Collaborate with HR and Payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely payment of healthcare premiums and workers’ compensation.
• Manage and provide guidance to the Accounting Clerk/Office Manager, ensuring accurate execution of accounts payable and reconciliation tasks.
• Prepare and issue client invoices based on job costing data and billing schedules, while tracking sales forecasts and payment terms.
• Partner with leadership to support the annual budgeting process and track department budgets throughout the year.
• Assist in forecasting short-term and long-term cash requirements and identifying potential cash flow challenges. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Proficiency in accounting software, with Sage Intacct preferred, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and general ledger processes.
• Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with keen attention to detail.
• Proven track record of completing tasks independently with high accuracy and reliability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
