Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join a team in Norfolk, Virginia. In this role, you will handle essential financial and administrative tasks, ensuring accurate invoice processing, payment monitoring, and record-keeping. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and record invoices in the Deltek CostPoint system, ensuring they match purchase orders and receipts.

• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and procedures, resolving discrepancies and reconciling supplier statements.

• Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems for all accounts payable documents.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain a safe and secure work environment.

• Perform high-volume data entry with precision and attention to detail.

• Collaborate with other departments to address payment-related issues and ensure timely processing.

• Monitor expenses and ensure proper coding of invoices according to accounting standards.

• Prepare and execute check runs and other payment processes as required.

• Assist with account reconciliation and reporting tasks to support financial accuracy.

Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable.

• Proficiency in using personal computers and software, particularly Microsoft Excel and data entry tools.

• Strong organizational skills, including time management and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with vendors and team members.

• General knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

• Familiarity with purchase orders and invoice coding procedures.

• Experience with Deltek CostPoint or similar accounting systems is preferred.

• Ability to work independently and maintain reliable attendance.
